Turns out, ‘being there’ for the mother of your child during lockdown is actually ‘being nearly there’.

We are currently at another check up with a mid wife. Well. Zoe is…I’m sat in the car again. Every scan and appointment so far (other than the first initial check up from a midwife) has followed this trend and the wait time ranges from 1 hour to 3 hours because even though everyone avoids hospitals at the moment…the maternity wards are very much business as usual.

Each wait starts the same…

“Byeee…Don’t touch anything while you’re in there!”

Right now what. Maybe I should be productive (That lasts about 10 seconds).

I wonder how much of the car I can clean without moving from my seat (That lasts about 10 seconds and the moving of 1 coffee cup…which is pointless because all I did was move it from the cup holder to the side panel).

Shes been in there for a while now…how longs passed? Literally 20 seconds.

F@!k this. Im making a playlist. I don’t know what I did before Spotify. In 2019 I listened to 61,269 minutes of music on spotify alone so it scares me to think what that’s going to be this year. My approach for this one ‘a great song from a good genre’. and yeah. My taste in music really does span from Metal to Motown. And yeah. I do play this to Zoe’s stomach in the hope of producing a rock baby.

  1. Bohemian Rhapsody – Queen
  2. 2nd Sucks – A Day to Remember
  3. A Place in the Sun – Stevie Wonder
  4. Stop Crying Your Heart Out – Oasis
  5. Solway Firth – Slipknot
  6. Billie Jean – Michael Jackson
  7. Hero of War – Rise Against
  8. Imperium – Machine Head
  9. All The Things She Said – t.A.T.U
  10. No Problem – Chase & Status
  11. Fluorescent Adolescent – Arctic Monkeys
  12. Radio – Ed Sheeran/JME
  13. Holding on to You – Twenty One Pilots
  14. Through Glass – Stone Sour
  15. Take Me Home, Country Roads – John Denver

It’s okay to procrastinate. But if Zoe asks. I was reading about Dad stuff. Oh and actually put the music you like on a playlist and play it to the baby. I was talking to someone at work who said the only music his little en likes now is Ed Sheeran…so choose wisely!
